Lead Baker

Springville, Utah, United States Full Time 

Position Overview: Manage all aspects of the creative artisan baked and pastry goods through traditional and modern hand-crafted methods for Jupiter Culinary and provide exceptional experiences through imagined and built products.

Qualifications:

  • 1 or more years of baking or pastry experience
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience of a team of 2 or more
  • Operational experience (scheduling, managing, ordering/inventory)
  • Menu development experience (a plus)

This role will accomplish the following: 

First 1 Month  

  • Capture the purpose of the Hobble Creek Campus by attending Vision Sessions 
  • Start building strong relationships with Hobble Creek team members
  • Enthusiastically participate in personal development and onboarding training 
  • Train on skills necessary for the current Moonflour Bakery recipes
  • Assist in daily production, catering events production, etc. 
  • Review and produce all Bakery menu items and practice processes

2 Months and Beyond  

  • Continue assisting in daily production, catering and events production, pars, etc. 
  • Lead all bakery staff and manage schedules and daily workflow of staff
  • Lead in R&D work for future pastry menu recipes
  • Manage all ordering for the bakery and keep accurate inventory counts and pars 
  • Lead out on all team building and team development
  • Assist in implementing safe working practices such as proper cleaning, storage, and proper rotation of products
  • Willingly participate in cross-training to be competent in helping where needed 
  • Organizing and restocking baked goods in the Market and Centerline Café 
  • Support all bakery needs for our culinary program

Working Conditions

  • Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds. 
  • This role could require travel from time to time.  
  • The work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. 
  • Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
